闘う音楽家 Fela Anikulapo-Kuti の自らのグループ Egypt '80 との作品。90年という後期ながらも重要作品ですね。86年のもう何度目かの釈放から、海外でもライブを精力的に行っていた時期でしょうか。とはいえちょうどスタジオアルバムとしてのリリースは少ない時期ですね。だからこそ貴重。
どちらかといえば柔らかく平坦なグルーヴ（とはいえコシが強い！）で、過去のヒット曲などを引用しつつも饒舌な語り口とブロウで闘う「ODOO (Overtake Don Overtake Overtake)」、さらに落ち着いたグルーヴと厚いホーンでドロっとした世界を描く「CBB (Confusion Break Bones)」
イケイケでグイグイ引っ張るグルーヴだった70〜80年代の勢いとは違いメッセージは変わらず外交的ながらも、グルーヴ/メロディ/楽曲の持つ空気感がスピリチュアルなのが後期の凄み。静かに鬼気迫るサウンドに震えます。
