京都・嵯峨野にて制作された郷土玩具「嵯峨面」で、藤原孚石による和紙製の飛出面です。大きく飛び出した白目と、誇張された表情が特徴で、災厄を跳ね返すような力強さと、滑稽さを兼ね備えた面となっています。。火伏や厄除の祈願面として飾られます。裏面には明治の本からとった和紙が使用されており、中央に赤札が貼付されています。嵯峨面は種類も多く、一点ずつ手仕事で制作されたため、同型でも表情に個体差があり、郷土信仰と造形美が融合した文化資料的価値のある品です。
