水槽のお掃除にレッドラムズホーン20匹+おまけの水草入り
5mm～10mmほどの成貝を送付いたします。
水草アナカリスやマツモなどをいっしょに入れます。
死着補償分として数匹多めにいれます。
レッドラムズホーンとメダカとの関係、相性は良いです。
環境適応範囲はメダカとほとんど同じであるため通年混泳させることが可能です。
相互に生きた個体を捕食することはありません。
レッドラムズは赤い色のきれいな貝です。
貝殻が白っぽくなっているものもありますが本体は赤いです。
アクアリウムでペットとして、小型魚水槽や水草水槽のコケ取り生物として、さらには淡水フグのエサとして利用されています。
コケ取り対策として入れられていますが、実はコケが無くなるだけではない、他のメリットがあります。
メダカのエサの食べ残しを食べるため、食べ残しが無駄にならず直接的に水質悪化をもたらしません。
その糞に良いバクテリアが住み着くので、更に良い環境となります。
さらにアンモニア、亜硝酸に対してメダカよりも敏感に反応し、活動を休止したり、死亡したりするため水質のバロメーターになります。
レッドラムズホーンは、ペットショップアクアリウムなどでは、1匹150円～200円ほど（送料別）で売られています。
