まず驚いたのがその声です。 解説がすぐに始まりますが、プロのナレーターが喋っているのかと思いました。
すぐにそれがバーンスタインの若かりし頃の声とは分からずにびっくりしました。
それがとても聞きやすく整った声なのです。
内容がまたとても知的で、この人の素養がよく伝わってくる感じでした。
８０年代からの活動しかリアル・タイムでは知らない世代にとって、改めてこの人の奥深さを思い知らされました。
幅広いレパートリーの膨大な録音がある中でも、これはとても貴重な録音だと思います。
録音は 1956年7月12, 19, 26日（ニューヨーク）
参加メンバーは、 Buck Clayton, Coleman Hawkins, Lawrence Brown, Freddie Green, Eddie Jones, Gus Johnson のようです。
