稲垣次郎、柳田ヒロ、猪俣猛、石川晶、水谷公生。5人の先鋭的ミュージシャンによるジャズ/ロックを全く自由に横断したニュー・ロック混沌期に現れた風変わりなコンピレイション。(1971年作品)
柳田ヒロは、自身のグループ、サンズ・オブ・サンでのボーカリスト、唯一無二の存在感を放つシンガー、MAOを、また稲垣次郎は、知る人ぞ知る名ソウルシンガー、サミーをフィーチャー。猪俣猛は前田憲男とのコンビで過激で極太のグルーヴによるジャズロック。当時人気絶頂のドラマー石川晶は鈴木宏昌とのユニットで自らファンキーなボーカルを聴かせる。名ギタリスト水谷公生のグループ、ベター(メンバー不詳)でのM5は異次元のボーカルが多くのリスナーの度肝を抜いた名演中の名演。
