ケースマイケル＆ローザスによる最新作『6つのブランデンブルク協奏曲』
振付家アンヌ・テレサ・ドゥ・ケースマイケルが主催するベルギーのダンス・カンパニー「ローザス」は、1983年の結成以来、音楽と舞踊の有機的な統合を目指した意欲的なコンテンポラリー・ダンス作品を次々と発表、世界的な注目を集めています。当初は女性4人のダンサーによるアンサンブルでスタートしましたが、近年は男性ダンサーも加え、更に魅力的なプロジェクトを展開。
本映像に納められた「ローザス」の最新作は、バレエの殿堂パリ・オペラ座（ガルニエ宮）で上演されたヨハン・セバスティアン・バッハの音楽による『6つのブランデンブルク協奏曲』です。
かつて「ローザス」結成前の1980年、ニューヨークに滞在した際、後に高い評価を得ることになるスティーヴ・ライヒの『ヴァイオリン・フェイズ』とともに『ブランデンブルク協奏曲』のリハーサルを行ったというケースマイケル。35年の時を経て、再びこの曲を取り上げた彼女は、バッハの多様な楽器編成とポリフォニックな音楽をスタイリッシュなダンスで視覚化するという斬新かつ洗練された舞台を創り上げています。フランス古楽界を牽引する女性バロック・ヴァイオリン奏者、アマンディーヌ・ベイエが指揮するビー・ロック（B’Rock）オーケストラの伴奏にも注目。しなやかで美しいバッハは、ダンサーの動きを華やかに彩ります。
