中西俊夫、立花ハジメ、佐藤チカ、
プロデューサーとして大成する
佐久間正英など多くの才能が在籍した
プラスチックスの記念すべき1980年ファーストアルバム。
東京ニューウェーヴの幕開け！
四人囃子で活動していた佐久間以外、
イラストレーター、スタイリスト、グラフィックデザイナーなど
非ミュージシャンで結成されたこのバンドの登場は
音楽家のセオリーや技術よりも、
素人のアイデアとセンスが勝利した瞬間という意味で
日本音楽史において重要な意味を持ち、
このアルバムの持つ感覚こそが
後の日本のクラブミュージックの出発点
となったと言える金字塔的傑作。
ラモーンズ「電撃バップ」と同類の疾走感と
熱気を含んだ「TOP SECRET MAN」はじめ、
人気曲「COPY」、「TOO MUCH INFORMATION」、
「ROBOT」などこれぞプラスチックスな名曲の数々。
佐藤チカのエキセントリックなヴォーカルは、
数十年の時を経た今もなお衝撃的！
