20年以上前のエッセイであり、その時代背景は、さらにその前の昭和30~50年代となる。にもかかわず、全く色褪せないそのメッセージ性に強く感動する。世の中は、すべてが悪、すべてが善で存在するわけでなく、色々な局面を持ち混在して
いる。その世の中の現実を漫画で描き、人間の脆さ、悲しみ、勇気、希望を作品とした手塚氏の哲学的な思想が、大変よく表れている。ラストの「宇宙から眼差しを持て」では、未来の予想と地球人として如何に、俯瞰的に地球をみて、宇宙人として、この緑と水の惑星を愛し、救うか！その想いに、感銘します。もっと、手塚作品を読みたくなりました。
手塚先生の地球への愛、子どもたちへ託す想い、人類への愛、使命などが難しい言葉ではなく、やさしい言葉でわかりやすく、つまりは手塚先生の話す言葉・のまま表現されており読みやすく心新たにしました。
