落葉低木
【商品情報】
ムラサキシキブは日本全国に自生しています。幹は細く、枝は密に茂ります。6～7月に紫色の小さな花をつけます。10～11月に光沢がある紫色の実がまとまって付きます。秋には葉は黄葉し紫の実と一緒に鑑賞が楽しめます。庭木では花・実付きが良い同品種のコムラサキシキブがよく植えられます。他の樹種では珍しく紫の実がなり観賞価値が高く、人気がある低木です。
【育て方】
日当たりが良い場所を好みますが日陰でも成長します。肥沃で湿り気がある場所を好みます。剪定はあまり行わず自然樹形で楽しむとよいでしょう。病原虫にも強いです。
