英国ウィンスタンレイのサイズ「２」のタビーキャット、ジェニーウィンスタンレイ女史の手による貴重なビンテージ作品です。素敵な可愛らしい猫ちゃんです。
可愛い真ん丸の眼でこちらを見つめていて、艶やかな毛並みで可愛い表情がとてもラブリーです。
ウィンスタンレイキャットは、可愛さだけでなく、生きている猫の動きを忠実に描写して、しかも子猫の心の内面まで表現しているようで、驚かされます。
ウィンスタンレイ女史の言葉で「Winstanley Cats bring life to gray
」＝「ウインスタンレイキャットは粘土に生命を吹き込む」
というコメントがありますが、まさに命ある猫がここにいます。
お約束のキャセドラルグラス・アイも健在で、透き通るようなつぶらな瞳で、見る者をどこまでも追いかけてきます。
サイズは「２」高さ約13.5cm、横幅11cm、奥行き15.5cm。
ヒビや欠けはなく、極めて良質な美品です。
なかなか巡り逢えない素晴らしい小品です。
（ご参考）ウィンスタンレイ キャットの歴史〜ジェニーが猫を作り始めたのは、のちの夫アレンの工房の助手に応募したのがきっかけでした。1950年代当初はケンジントン工房と呼ばれていましたが、ジェニーの創作した特徴ある猫を1958年から夫婦は作り始め、後にジェニーの旧姓のウィンスタンレイ工房と名乗るようになります。1964年に工房をノーフォークに移転し、米国や仏国、伊国を中心に輸出がはじまります。80年代に入るとモデルが増えすぎてモデルナンバーで管理できなくなってきます。そこでだいたいのサイズごとに分類することにしました。90年代の全盛期には5人のスタッフを雇い第2工場も持っていました。ジェニーはすでに2004年に亡くなっていますが、彼女の息子さんたちが後継者となり、今も作品が作られています。
