70年後半から80年代初頭のパンク ― ニューウェイヴ期のUKシーンにおいて、花柄のワンピースを身にまとい、60’Sポップスを手本にしたポップ・ナンバーで時代を駆け抜けたDOLLY MIXTURE。PAUL WELLERに愛され、BBCのJOHN PEELを夢中にさせ、UNDERTONESやJAM、人気絶頂のU2などのサポート・アクトに抜擢されながらも遂に成功を手にすることなく消えたこのガールズ・トリオだが、そのインディー精神とDIYな活動、それに時代を経ても変わらない魅力的な楽曲の数々は、今なお世界中のインディー・ポップ・ファンに愛され続けている。
